    A Walk In The Rain

    “A Walk In The Rain” Free Verse Poetry, August 2016/March 2017 She went for a walk in the rain With barely enough light to see The mist baptizing her favorite path. She couldn’t escape the pain Without causing much more So she retreated to her abandoned door. Once inside, the walls entombed her And trapped her as they moved, Revealing the family she’d left behind.     “Truths Left Unspoken”, Rhythmic Poetry, 9-27-16 Many secrets lead me astray. Why do I want to run away? I have all I’ve ever wanted. So what’s missing? I’m still haunted.     “A Eulogy”  12-26-05 Written about my grandmother, my father’s mother, who died in March of 2004. She was my favorite person in the world and the reason my daughter’s middle name is Pearl, named for my Meema. When I started college, Meema would write letters to me several times a week. I have saved every single one of them.  What can I say about her? Simple doesn’t say it— Beautiful is too generic. All I can say is that I loved her, And can’t believe she’s gone.
