    “A Walk In The Rain” Free Verse Poetry, August 2016/March 2017 She went for a walk in the rain With barely enough light to see The mist baptizing her favorite path. She couldn’t escape the pain Without causing much more So she retreated to her abandoned door.     Under Pressure

    Being a mother is stressful. So is being a wife. And being a woman in general. I try so hard to be good at my many jobs and wear many hats, but most of the time I feel like I’m juggling and the joke’s on me because I can’t juggle. I put a lot of pressure on myself.     I’m a liar

    Hello, my name is Brandi, and I am a liar. But we all are. I can’t think of any person unless they are an infant or non-verbal child or adult who hasn’t told a lie at some point. There are different types of lies.  White lies are my specialty; harmless lies often used to spare someone’s feelings. Malicious lies are different, used to get someone else into trouble or to protect yourself from trouble. I don’t make a habit of maliciously lying because I do have a conscience.
